POSITION SUMMARY :
We are seeking a Middleware System Administrator for Weblogic who will support the integrity and governance of a system/software solution, including best practices for delivering services. Develop, deploy, and support infrastructures, applications, software solutions and technology initiatives from an architectural and operational perspective in conjunction with existing standards and methods of delivery.
His/her function is critical to the performance and stability of IT infrastructure hosting business critical applications and services on a 24/7/365 basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Education Degree in Computer Engineering field or related
- Experience has to be 7+ years of experience with UNIX, Apache and WebLogic middleware administration
Knowledge and skills (general and technical) :
- Expert Administration experience with Apache and Oracle WebLogic including installation, configuration and troubleshooting
- Strong Unix experience with shell scripting: Solaris, Redhat Linux
- Has worked on any incident/change management tool such as CA Service Desk or Service Now, etc.
- Understanding of enterprise networking and security architectures, especially as they relate to web-hosting
- Experience automating routine WebLogic administrative tasks using WLST/Jython, ksh, or other tools
- Ability to drive automation of middleware products, especially Oracle WebLogic, Apache and WebMethods
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions
- Assist in project releases
- Deep understanding of software and hardware encryption technologies and algorithms
- Detailed Knowledge of Web Hosting n-tier infrastructures, specifically Firewalls, hardware load-balancers, SSL offloading, VLANs / routing, NAS / SAN technologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, prioritize work, and manage customer expectation
Soft skills :
- Confidence and credibility, with the presence and communication skills to represent IT related concepts effectively to all audiences at all levels
- Strong delivery focus with ability to multi-task and work on various projects concurrently, meeting client expectations and deadlines
- Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
- Well balanced technical, client service and client management skills
Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training) :
- ITIL Certification preferred
- WebLogic certification preferred
- Candidate is expected to work in 24X7 shifts (on a rotational basis)
- Weekends work duty is required whenever requests arise
