Business Analyst - IT Projects (6-9 yrs) (SpearTalent IT Consulting)

A Business Analyst (BA) is envisioned to be a multi-faceted role. As a BA - you understand the customer's business and organization very well, and you also understand (Client) solutions and offerings. BA acts as a conduit that connects the two sides, and also provides a cover to all the engagements that(Client) is having with the customer.

A Business Analyst will typically be assigned a set of customers - belonging to a specific Business Unit, or cutting across some Business Units. (Client) will identify a set of Tier 1 customers who will have a named BA assigned. Other than these Tier-1 customers, BA will also play key role in specific project engagements (even for customers outside of Tier 1 group). Here are a set of things that are expected of the BA:

1. Account Management: A BA understands customer's business and organization very well. You will have knowledge about the customer's IT/ Systems landscape, Digital Transformation plans, Budgets, and white spaces. The customer will start to see you as a trusted advisor, and discuss systems and technology issues that cause them to lose sleep. You will work with the Business Units and Practice Heads at (Client) to pitch the right solutions to the customer. You will also do the needed level of internal escalation within (Client) to address customer needs.

2. Project Engagement: A BA will play an active role in most project engagements that (Client) has with a customer. You will develop a thorough understanding of customer needs, and actively participate during the phases of Business Process Study/ Requirements/ User Stories identification. You will play important role in translating the customer needs in to specific work items for the project team (functional and technical), and testing the solution. Even though you may not be the Project Manager, Project Scope assessment, Risk Assessment, ensuring quality documentation (by you, or the project team), and ensuring excellent customer relationship are key to the role.

3. Farming: BA will carry a target to generate farming revenue from the customers that are assigned to the BA. BA will actively work with the relevant Business Unit during pre-sales, and close the identified opportunities.

4. Case Studies/ Collateral: One of the important responsibilities of BA is to produce Case Studies from the customers that the BA is assigned to. Timely generation of Case Studies and other related collateral has a vital role to play in (Client)'s marketing.

5. (Client) Solutions & offerings understanding: Since BA will become the face of (Client) with all key customers, as well as with key prospects, it's vital that you develop a good understanding of the (Client)solutions & offerings. This will include developing understand of the Microsoft Dynamics solutions, Azure offerings, specific industry offerings, and also learning overtime the rich history (Client) has with customers - from India and overseas - on the specific solution, product line and industry. Developing a good understanding of the Microsoft stack, including Azure and various solutions under Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 will become important for success.

This role requires strong business and market sense. Communication, critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills, relationship building and good team work are vital to the position. You would also need to keep learning as the technology and products evolve.
