Established in Bengaluru in 2008, it went on to become the largest Micro Finance Institution (MFI) in India, and was recognised globally as one of the world's innovative financial institutions working on the problem of financial inclusion.

Its current employee strength is of 15,000. By end of 2019, Jana Bank's 500 branches will be operational across 19 states, post conversion of majority of its micro finance storefronts into bank branches.

Role : Lead - Database Administrator

Direct Reporting To : Head - Enterprise Architect

Band : AVP/VP

Education Qualification : B.E/BTECH

Certification/Trainings (desirable) : Certified DB admin for Oracle & Db2.

Work Location : Koramangala Bangalore

Role Necessity :

- It's a hands-on role with expertise in Oracle, DB2, MySQL and SQL Server.

- Lead a team of DBAs across various database platforms (namely Oracle, DB2, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Sysbase) doing production support.

- Work with application teams and Vendor partners in troubleshooting high sev issues involving DB.

- Ensure 24- 7- 365 DB operations building pro-active monitoring and alerting tools to fix systemic issues and pro-actively prevent them.

- Ensure DC-DR-Test environments across applications are using the latest fix packs (continuous updates) & the latest versions. Track obsolescence & plan upgrades and mitigation strategies.

Work with the application team that are running on version which are nearing EOL/EOS and plan upgrades pro-actively.

- Propose & implement HA, DR, clustering, Load Balancing and replication of DB as per agreed DB solution architecture across all applications.

- Ensure no DB installations happen without proper accounting of licenses & track them closely using the relevant OEM portals.

- Create & direct a roadmap to consolidate, optimize & scale the database assets deployed in the enterprise to achieve an agreed end state.

- Collaborate with Product teams to manage on-going capacity of DBs to ensure it cater for current and projected growth.

- Reduce the Cost of Ownership through consolidation, optimization & adoption of open source DBs.

- Consolidate and improve on the SoPs to drive quality, completeness & implementation to ensure regulatory compliance backed by evidencing.

- Create a data architecture representing various master entities and their relationships giving a complete picture of information presence and flow.

- Work on new investment proposals involving DB component.

- Guide and mentor the team. Work towards retention of skilled resources. Cross-train across platforms to build flexibility & depth. Regards
