IT PMO Developer - MSPS & Sharepoint
Job Description Summary :
Global IT is hiring a developer to support the Portfolio Management Office scope of applications including Microsoft Project (MSPS), SharePoint, and Apptio.
Across all tools this individual should have :
- Experience in using Active Directory (integration with applications)
- Experience with databases and query languages such as SQL
- Be able to automate data exports and imports from a database as well as pull data from a database
- Have familiarity with Agile, Sprints, and DevOps App Dev methods
- Maintain Excel based linked reports (Smart Reports)
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement automation solutions
- Manage communication on releases, changes, and downtime
- Possess strong customer service skills
Job Description :
- Researches, designs, develops, configures, integrates, tests and maintains existing and new business applications and/or information systems solutions including databases through integration of technical and business requirements. Applications and infrastructure solutions include both 3rd party software and internally developed applications and infrastructure.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis of business requirements, coding of modifications or new program, creation of documentation, testing and maintenance of applications, infrastructure, and information systems including database management systems.
- Works within the Information Technology function, obtaining resources and working in support of objectives and strategies. Provides required documentation and participates in architecture reviews to ensure that the solutions comply with standards and use approved technologies. Typical customers are company end users and various functional areas such as Supply Chain, Research and Development, Marketing, Finance, a business, or the company.
Responsibilities :
- Participates as a member of and leads development teams. Performs analysis of complex functional and business requirements. Prepares code stubs for others. Completes code to implement solutions. Designs solutions for others to code. Participates in cross-functional teams. Leads design activities May provide mentoring and guidance to other developers. Designs, prepares and executes Unit tests. Represents team to client/customers.
- Demonstrates technical leadership, and exerts influence outside of immediate team. Develops innovative team solutions to complex problems. Contributes to strategic direction for teams.
- Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to provide maintenance solutions across one or more technology areas (e.g. Database Administration).
- Performs solution design. Applies the company and 3rd party technologies and leads design of highly complex infrastructure and software solutions.
- Independently implements end- user or enterprise infrastructure or services of significant complexity.
- Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and customers. Mentors and consults with team members and other organizations, customer and vendors on complex issues.
Education and Experience Required : Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Knowledge and Skills :
SharePoint :
- Deep understanding of SharePoint architecture and services; Significant experience in SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Office Suite. Expert in SharePoint "modern" web parts and features. Thorough understanding of the following areas:
- MS Power Software Suites (PowerApps, Power BI, Power Query, Automate/Flow and PowerShell)
SharePoint Designer :
- InfoPath Forms
- MS Forms
- Experience designing in both SharePoint Online (O365) and on-premise Sharepoint team sites. Preferably have certification in SharePoint (SP Online, SP 2016, SP 2013)
- Design, enhance, implement and maintain SharePoint sites and applications ensuring access, reliability, availability and usability to current and new users
- Develop and integrate SharePoint with processes, workflows, e-mail alerts, data visualization, relational database management and/or data hub to connect multiple data sources for business intelligence, with HFE (Human Factor Engineering) and UE (usability engineering) built into the UI (user interface)
- Be able to quickly familiarize with existing complex SharePoint lists designs
- Experience in Web Development - HTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, XML
- Develop reporting capabilities/dashboards within SharePoint on workflow stage data
- Good understanding of security fundamentals in SharePoint and best practices for securing application (permissions control)
MSPS :
- Develop good understanding of Project Server back-end services and batch jobs Be able to troubleshoot and resolve downtime issues for Microsoft Project server 2016 on-prem
- Onboard new project managers and assist with any connectivity or access issues
- Manage PWA configuration settings such as enterprise fields, security groups, views
- Create new PDP pages or enhance existing ones for new fields or functionality
- Provide light training as part of on-boarding new users Manage project / task assignments for IT time reporting
- Interface with other project teams to be aware of environment configuration changes impacting planning tools
- Maintenance of master data tables as needed Manage custom SQL views used by interface processes
Additional Job Description :
- Over time this individual will be expected to learn Apptio. Apptio
- Develop strong familiarity and understanding of Apptio tool - Cost Transparency and IT Planning Foundation
- Be able to upload data into tables in Apptio (ad hoc and recurring) and perform data quality checks on uploads (before and after)
- Validate output reports post upload and on ad hoc upon request
- Develop good understanding of Datalink software to automate and upload data into Apptio
- Access management - add new users, remove users, grant environment access
- Be able to perform permissions control for various cost objects upon ad hoc requests Submit tickets into Apptio Support and manage till resolution Perform testing of new reports and releases
- Maintain Apptio Runbook Manage TBMO service request queue
- Export ITPF Plans and upload into sharepoint for reporting.
