Stratogent - Network Engineer L3 - Routing & Switching (6-13 yrs) (Stratogent technology services)

Relevant Experience: Min 6 years in network infrastructure of which 2 plus years at L3 level to remote network

Educational Qualification: Full time Bachelors/Master's Degree in any stream (engineering background preferred) with excellent academic track record.

Job description:

- Network Administration at L3 level: Cisco, PAN, Routing, Switching, MPLS, VPN, WAN acceleration

- Provide hands-on technical support

Business Relationships:

- Coordinating internally with other team members

Responsibilities

- Day to day Operational issues, requests and Project tasks

- Respond and resolve escalated incidents, problems or outages and accurately report and document solutions

- Problem determination and resolution within SLA's

- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot various networking devices

- Troubleshoot network performance issues using various performance and monitoring tools

- Use the available monitoring tools during the maintenance activities (scheduled or unscheduled) to suppress the alerts, collect information for troubleshooting

- Create, review, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.

- Assist in proper designing, planning and documenting.

- Firmware or OS upgrade and patching of related networking devices

- Responsible for providing senior level of support in networking area.

- Prepare root cause analysis report

- Train and mentor the peers and juniors in the team.

- Validate the quality of work performed by peers and juniors in the team

- Perform the Shift handovers

- Being part of the technical team during CAB reviews, Projects and Incidents

- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all networking devices and network services

- Participate in team on-call response 7x24x365.

- Co-ordinate with various teams such as monitoring, backup, windows and Linux to ensure proper functioning of all servers and its services

Must-have Skills:

- Must be good in below areas:

1. Routing

- Cisco routers administration

- OSPF, BGP routing protocols

2. Switching

- Must be good in troubleshooting with:

3. Analysis using logs

4. Analysis of Alerts

5. Able to Perform Root Cause Analysis for the incidents

- Must have done firmware or OS upgrade and patching of related networking devices

Good-to-have-skills :

- Cisco certifications are a strong plus.

- Good technical experience on firewalls (Cisco, FortiGate, Palo Alto)

- A strong plus would be breadth of technical experience (MPLS, Campus Wifi, WAN Acceleration, load balancer, etc.)

- Working knowledge of networking in cloud technologies,

- Meraki and / Or Aruba wireless management.

- Experience with network monitoring tool like SolarWinds, netflow is a plus.

- Prior experience working at an ISP/Managed Services/IT Services company is preferred, and a background in dealing with global teams and remote teams will be a strong plus.

- Capture and analyze Wireshark logs
