Founded in 1999, India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India) is a diverse partnership that brings together committed organisations and communities to support sustained responses to HIV in India. Complementing the Indian national programme, the organisation works through capacity building, knowledge sharing, technical support and advocacy. Leveraging its large network of partners, Alliance India supports the delivery of effective, innovative, community-based HIV programmes, to key populations affected by the epidemic.
The organisation works through NGO and CBO partners to support efforts that have a sustainable impact on HIV. Placing communities at the center, it works to ensure that vulnerable and marginalised people are meaningfully involved in all aspects of the organisation's response, including sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, transgender individuals, and people living with HIV. Alliance India- s programming and policy efforts are driven by evidence of what works. Quality and accountability are core priorities in its interventions, technical support and grant management.
Headquartered in New Delhi, the organisation implements programmes across India, with the support of more than 450 organisations. 3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Reporting to the Director Finance & Operations, the IT Officer shall be responsible for maintaining network and server resources for the smooth and uninterrupted functioning of all IT infrastructure at Alliance India.
- The post-holder is expected to have excellent project management skills and understanding of technical requirements for the development of various CMIS, mobile applications, etc., including the safe and secure management and transaction of data through cloud services.
- S/he will maintain hardware/ software resources, provide hardware/ software help-desk service to Alliance India staff in Delhi and in project offices in different parts of the country, assess staff IT training requirements; and, provide training/ individual support, as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities :
(1) Manage the IT infrastructure of Alliance India and ensure uninterrupted IT support, both at the server and end-user level. Develop routine maintenance schedules for all equipment and ensure that the same is followed;
(2) Lead L1 and L2 level IT infrastructure related technical support for various software, applications (CMIS) and servers, mobile applications and device management systems;
(3) Ensure the smooth functioning and management of mobile devices and provide troubleshooting support to field level partners in the use of various applications for data collection and analysis;
(4) Manage multiple servers, both physical and virtual (Hyper-V), placed in office as well as remote locations;
(5) Manage Microsoft Office 365 Administration and services in a hybrid environment;
(6) Manage online SharePoint administration (Sites & Libraries) on a routine basis, including OneDrive for business and Skype for business;
(7) Provide routine monitoring and troubleshooting inputs and resolve issues with user access to cloud services;
(8) Manage the creation of policies in Office 365 services and support for managing user accounts for MS Office 365;
(9) Manage policy-based implementation of on-premises Active directory domain controller;
(10) Implement policies and procedures to ensure secured access to server and all such applications;
(11) Ensure that all softwares are licensed and keep up-to-date documentation of the organisation's IT infrastructure records;
(12) Manage word press websites (including updates, deletions and changes to plugins) and ensure backup-recovery;
(13) Manage routine back-up policies and their implementation for servers, Office 365 environment, etc.;
(14) Ensure safety and security of critical official data and documents through appropriate monitoring and security measures within the IT infrastructure;
(15) Manage IT assets (hardware, software and service agreements) and their inventory;
(16) Ensure effective management of various IT related outsourced services for the organization;
(17) Provide day-to-day hardware/ software related support to staff members, including remote users;
(18) Ensure routine stakeholder management of all technical partners to ensure that the IT technology adopted in the organisation is updated and utilized optimally;
(19) Provide recommendations on the development of existing systems e.g. up-gradation of server operating systems, server replacements, hardware and software updates, etc.;
(20) Advise the procurement team on technical aspects of IT-related procurements and be a part of technical negotiations for IT-related procurements;
(21) Ensure that the programme team is adequately trained to comfortably use all common software applications to their full potential by identifying training needs in specific areas and providing tailored training to concerned staff members;
(22) Advise the management team on new technologies and innovations in IT and suggest strategies as well as benefits from adopting the same;
(23) Lead the team, by providing continuous encouragement, setting clear work/ activity plans and closely monitoring all quality aspects of deliverables through a lead by example approach;
(24) Undertake other responsibilities not outlined above which are commensurate with a role of this nature in the charitable sector and which have been discussed and agreed between the Line Manager and the post holder.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES :
Qualification :
(1) B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Science/ IT; OR MCA or equivalent degree; OR Two year Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application/ Science/ IT;
(2) Microsoft Certification in System Administration;
(3) Certification in Office 365 administration and services is desirable.
Experience :
(1) Four to six years experience of independently managing similar level of infrastructure in comparable settings;
(2) Good project management experience, especially of working on system/ application development related tasks
(3) Experience of working in the development sector is desirable.
Skills and Competencies :
(1) Basic knowledge of SQL server administration;
(2) Hands on experience in Microsoft Office 365 Administration;
(3) Experience in cloud architecture;
(4) Experience in managing Air watch MDM (Mobile device Management) policies based roles;
(5) Experience in Google Suit administrator;
(6) Experience in managing Juniper SRX 220 H & EX Series 3300 & 2200 manageable switches;
(7) Experience of managing backup policies and implementation;
(8) Experience of managing on-premises server backup using windows backup utility;
(9) Experience of managing Office 365 OneDrive, SharePoint sites backup and Azure servers- backup (Including VMs backup & Server backup tool in azure infrastructure);
(10) Strong understanding of security best practices in IT;
(11) Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently;
(12) Excellent inter-personal skills with demonstrated ability to use judgment, initiative, tact and discretion, as appropriate;
(13) Ability and willingness to undertake travel, primarily within India;
(14) Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English.
The position requires a strong commitment to HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Civil Society initiatives in India, along with demonstrated interest in engaging with relevant issues relating to the same.
